What does LifeSensor focus on?
LifeSensor helps to
- record and maintain copies of relevant medical history data.
LifeSensor
- is available anywhere and at anytime,
- features a loosely coupled model of source system integration via an open standard (LifeSensor Web API),
- has an integrated authorization concept that supports the owner of LifeSensor in controlling access to its data.
Architecture Overview
The following diagram shows the currently available LifeSensor architecture. LifeSensor is based on application modules, which compose the components. There are two types of LifeSensor components, one is based on the ICW eHealth Framework and the other is LifeSensor specific.
What are the key modules of LifeSensor?
LifeSensor Personal Health Record
LifeSensor’s Personal Health Record (PHR) is a valuable online resource for
- consumers,
- their families,
- doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals who provide consumer’s treatment and care.
An amazingly simple user interface offers quick access to the consumer’s health information. LifeSensor contains a diverse range of data including information about:
- allergies and adverse drug reactions,
- medications,
- illnesses and hospitalizations,
- surgeries and other procedures.
LifeSensor Document Management
LifeSensor's Document Management is used to track and store electronic documents and/or images of paper documents. It commonly provides storage, versioning, metadata, security, as well as retrieval capabilities.
LifeSensor Identity Management
LifeSensor's Identity Management (IDM, covers User Management and Account Management) provides the process of authenticating and authorizing users via smartcards and web access control systems.
LifeSensor Personal Information Management
LifeSensor's Personal Information Manager (PIM) provides personal organizer functionality. As an information management tool, a PIM's purpose is to facilitate the recording, tracking, and management of certain types of "personal information" like appointments or birthdays.
In the future the LifeSensor PIM will be capable of synchronizing data with another PIM (e.g. MS Outlook).
LifeSensor Content Management
LifeSensor’s Content Management (CM) is a set of processes and technologies that support the evolutionary life cycle of digital information about health. The CM maintains a large database with detailed information on more than 700 diseases and methods of treatment and examination, among other things. This information helps consumers to make better health decisions.
What about Internationalization and Localization?
The focal points of LifeSensor’s Internationalization (i18n) and Localization (l10n) efforts include:
- Language,
- Date/time format,
- Formatting of numbers (decimal points, positioning of separators, and the character used as separator),
- Names and titles,
- Telephone numbers, addresses and international postal codes.
